About UsImagine:
You’ve never been here before. You’ve never travelled this trail before. The excitement builds with every anxious step because you know where it leads. You can feel the air become slightly cooler, slightly more humid. Then the smell. That unmistakable, incomparable smell. Like a saguaro sensing an impending desert raindrop. It breathes life back into your gait, back into your soul. And at last…..the sound. It starts as subtle as the breeze diffusing through the lodgepoles. The volume increases. The sound is steady, too steady, too enveloping to be the wind on the tree tops. Getting louder with every step. You know it, you’ve been subconsciously craving it…and you know that there is only one thing in the universe that makes that sound. The river. You peer out around the willows, over the boulder. Around the closest bend, the white foam from the chute fans out, slows down, becomes inviting again. The pool becomes dark, deep. The sun glistens at the perfect angle along the water top, creating an enchanting, hypnotizing kaleidoscope. Paradise. Shangri-la. Utopia. A caddisfly lands. The surface breaks, with a splash. The trout live here, and they are hungry. This is Sexy Water. |
Who We Are |
There is something unique about fishing. We all know it. Pursuing the fish inevitably ties us into the rest of the universe. Makes us appreciate. Makes us love. And there is art in it all. Undeniably. Fishing is art - of man’s attempted mastery of the world despite the world’s best attempt otherwise. In all success there is art, and in all humility. The river is the superlative analogy for the human condition. We are drawn to it, innately. We are drawn to it emotionally, magnetically. With wisdom comes the ability to see that it is not only the fish that we are after. It is the solitude, the splendor, the experience. It is the feature, the water itself, that so firmly grasps us. At Sexy Water, we want to showcase what makes every water irreplaceable. From the Pyramid Lake to the Everglades, the Yampa to the Yellowstone. We want to honor the artists, photographers, and authors that show us their perspective. We want to give back to the rivers, its stewards, and the folks along the way that make the overall experience possible. We want to show what makes every water sexy. Thanks for floating it with us.
